WEIMARANER BEGINNERS’ AGILITY TRAINING: Sunday 3rd April 2022

If you have ever wanted to ‘have a go’ at agility but have never found the opportunity or perhaps you’ve done a previous taster session, ‘just for fun’ classes or have a few jumps in your back garden then this could be for you.

I have organised a training event especially for Weimaraner owners who have no experience or who are very new to agility. This will be held at an established training school; Redgates, in the CM6 area of Essex, 20 minutes from Stansted/M11 junction.

There will be one or two classes of 2 hours duration each, depending on uptake, with a maximum number of 6 handlers per class so that you have lots of individual attention. (If we cannot fill the session with Weimaraners it will be open to other breeds and existing Redgates club members).

The focus for complete beginners is familiarising your dog with some of the basic equipment and teaching you how to get them working on it.

Handlers with dogs that are familiar with the equipment will focus more on skills training and working your dog over a sequence of obstacles.

For health reasons dogs should be 12 months of age or over for the above classes. If we have interest from those with younger dogs, Redgates may consider putting on an additional session, however there is little value in bringing a dog under 6 months of age.

The venue has a large grass exercise area around the arenas, an all weather training area, and basic toilet facilities. Provided weather has been ‘good to us’, training will be on grass.

Please bring your own refreshments. There is water available on site for dog’s drinking water. Parking is extremely limited unless the ground is very dry, so we are limited to 6-8 cars. Sadly we cannot accommodate spectator’s cars as parking at the venue is limited. There are very basic toilet facilities at the venue, a ‘porta potty’ in a shed!

The venue is about half an hour from The National Trust, Hatfield Forest, should you like to explore after the event, please check their website for current covid restrictions and booking.

A charge of £20 per dog covers the venue hire and the trainer’s time. Full payment is required to reserve your space at the time of booking. Please return entry form and payment by 10th March 2022
